The East Quoddy Lighthouse, inaccessible at mid-tide

While we were on Campobello Island, we camped at Herring Cove Provincial Park. The campsites are immaculate – nary a cigarette butt to be found – thanks to the crew that cleans each site when a camper leaves.

A morning hike, an early afternoon interactive FUN tour (which was not only fun but interesting), a low tide excursion to the East Head Lighthouse, and a late afternoon drive to scenic views along the carriage roads gave us a feel for the whole island, which measures only 15 square miles.
