Collier-Seminole State Park

My sister and her husband have joined us for a few days, and we started the good times rolling with a 3-hour guided canoe paddle among the mangrove trails at the park where we’re camping.

A 17-mile scenic driving loop in the afternoon proved to be a bird-viewing feast, with lots of alligators thrown in for good measure. I was so enthralled with all the wildlife, I forgot to take any photos, except for this lovely expanse of Florida savannah. This is truly an exceptional place in the world, and its gratifying to know that so many efforts are being made to preserve it.
